Hi all! Though it's only Tuesday, I've been such a busy bee this week (I'm not sure as to why they say 'busy bee' considering I don't think bees do too much that it would be appropriate to consider them busy). However, this whole busy business is good because by the end of the week I'll have a bundle of cool stuff to share with you. 'Cause sharing is caring, right? Aren't you excited?! Anyshway, being busy takes away from having even a millisecond to sit down & think about an outfit that's acceptable for every event of the day; though this is NOT an excuse to wear an uninteresting outfit that looks like it was inspired by a BUM. That's why I've decided to share with you an outfit that's fitting for many occasions & can simply be dressed up or dressed down, depending on what you're doing or feeling.
1- The Maxi Skirt (Free People): I love the simplicity & effortlessness of a maxi skirt. It goes with just about anything and flatters just about any figure. It's also easy to move in, which is good if you're constantly running for a train or bus.. like myself.
ps- This maxi is a wrap skirt, so you may want to wear some bike shorts underneath (I live in these). If not, then go ahead & flash all of NYC, fine with me. Just make sure you're wearing cute undies.
2- The Bralette/Bandeau (All Saints): It's summer. And if you're going to be running around all day, you definitely do not want to sweat. Layer a bralette or bandeau with a cool print under a sheer top.
3- The Sheer Top (Free People): Here's the sheer top you'll be layering over that printed bralette we spoke about. It's simple. It's beautifully detailed. You need it. I need it. We'll buy it.
4- The Denim Vest (Topshop): If you don't feel comfortable with just a bralette & a sheer top, layer on an edgy denim vest. Or take it with you for when the weather changes its mind and you get chilly. Or if you're like me & like to add a little edge to your outfits.. WEAR IT.
5- Some More Edginess (Jeffrey Campbell): I absolutely LOVE studs. On everything. These shoes give that little edge I was talking about above. And they compliment the denim vest. They're like a couple. But if you're not feeling a closed toe shoe, opt for some cool sandals like the chick in the maxi skirt pictured above.
6- Finishing It Off (Prada sunnies, Zara bag, Chanel nail laquer, Erin Wasson Aztec ring, Max & Chloe double finger ring, Citrine by The Stones gold cuff): Finish your effortlessly chic, perfect for a busy day look by adding some color with a neon carry all (carry all bags come in handy when you're going to be out all day. 'Cause they carry all, except maybe a koala or something. DUH.), some funkadellic shades, a fun colored nail polish, and vintagey accessories.
AND NOW YOU ARE FINITO, FIN. SO GO OUT & BE A BUSY BEE.
Have a lovely day, kissies.

I love all of these! I agree a maxi skirt can make any outfit look good although running for the train or bus I tend to trip over them !
