Alexander McQueen exhibit at the Met
I love how the button matches me. Perfect.

Frida Kahlo shirt

INTRODUCING.. MY BROCADE FOXY FABS!
vintage hat, rayban sunnies, zara frida kahlo t-shirt & pants, jeffrey campbell shoes.
Yesterday, I went to the Met Museum to go see the Alexander McQueen exhibit. We weren't allowed to take pictures and the exhibit left me speechless so it would only make sense for you to go check it out yourself. The exhibit is up until the end of July so get up & go go go! I feel that the exhibit displayed McQueen's talent as a designer as well as an artist perfectly. The pieces that were chosen to be shown were absolutely stunning; you can tell how much hard work & effort (understatement) went into the construction of each garment. As a designer, I found the exhibit to be beyond inspirational.
Moving on.
How ironic is it that I went to the museum wearing a Frida Kahlo shirt? Completely unintentional. I swear. Anyway, I found this lovely number in Zara's last week. It was just lying there, the only one, on a random table. So, of course I snatched it up. Which is funny, 'cause I'm not a big t-shirt person (unless it's a v-neck). The shirt is so soft & comfortable and I love the loose fit. HOWEVER, the cap sleeves kind of bother me so I plan to cut them off to look more like pictures 4&6. While making my way to the register to pay for the shirt, I spotted these pants. Which is also funny, because I'm not much of a jeans person either. I was a little hesitant to buy them because I didn't have enough time to try them on but I decided why not take a risk. Turns out my choice to take a risk was a good one. The pants fit perfectly and the thing I love about them (and probably anyone else who's short & has to hem every pant they own) is that they hit right at the ankle, not too long, not too short. And of course I love the zipper detail on the leg, just 'cause it's cool. I kind of want to go back and get them in every color.
Moving on, again.
Now that summer weather is upon us here in New York (well for the past couple of days, at least), I felt it was the right time to take my Jeffrey Campbell Brocade Foxy Fab's from their box to the streets. Before I begin, let me just tell you something about Jeffrey Campbell and the shoes he designs.. THEY'RE ALL FREAKIN' AWESOME & I kinda wanna buy every pair. Anyway, now that I've gotten that out, I've been eyeing these Foxy Fab's since forever (October, to be exact). First, I saw the Brocade Lita's and died a little inside. But then.. then I saw these beauties and died a little bit more inside. It was like love at first sight. I'm not sure what I love more, the beautiful, vintage look & feel of the fabric, the wood heel, or the fact that they add 5 very much needed inches to my height. But.. it pains me to say that as beautiful and comfortable as these shoes are, they gave me blisters! I'll be fine, though. Cause I'm a trooper. Just kidding. I brought flat sandals with me just in case. Which was a good choice since later on, I ended up going downtown to the South Street Seaport to enjoy the weather & start of summer with some friends.
Anyway, I hope you all have a fun, fashionable Memorial Day Weekend! Get excited, cause now you can wear white pants. Until Labor Day, of course.
